Enjoyed a nice Saturday lunch at 1 pm. Not crowded at all, although we had made reservations just in case. Relaxed, open atmosphere, with option to dine outside in the nice weather. We were kindly greeted by the Chef himself as we entered as he worked in the kitchen, "Welcome to Paris!" We were shown to our seats by the hostess/waitress. My sister had the duck breast, cooked medium rare/pink, tender moist texture, perfectly prepared. Asparagus was tender and tasty. I had the marketplace fish with capers, onions and had the choice between salmon and Branzino. I chose the Branzino which turned out wonderfully, moist, smooth texture, not overcooked. Served with a side salad. Food is well thought out, prepared very well, delicious...serving sizes are modest compared to casual dining establishments, but it is clearly a case of quality over sheer quantity. Your waistline will thank you as will your taste buds. Overall a pleasant experience, worth a visit if you are in the Germantown area.
First time visiting this restaurant. We came for a Sunday brunch. Very casual, relaxed and friendly atmosphere but the food and service are top quality. The chef and the server were very friendly. Love that they have an open kitchen. All the dishes we ordered were typical French menu items you can get anywhere but they were all probably the best we’ve had. Egg Benedict had crispy bread, perfect hollandaise sauce and egg, without being a soggy mess like in some restaurants. Escargot was prepared perfectly, soft, flavorful but not overpowering. We will definitely be back!
Nice experience. The food was excellent and the service was great I can't remember her name possibly Olivia? But she was awesome. Would def return.
This French bistro is a hidden gem in the Germantown area. On our visit, we tried many dishes, and all of them were delicious. We especially enjoyed charred octopus, escargot, tuna carpaccio, prime rib, and duck breast; chocolate mousse for dessert was also really good. Our waiter, Kathryn, was fantastic and provided good suggestions, and the overall atmosphere of the place was charming. The only minor thing that bothered us was a powerful fan above the table, so I guess having a jacket or something would be a good idea.
It’s about time Germantown had its own delicacy. This French restaurant has got it right. The attention to detail from the food to the layout is impeccable. The portion sizes are just right. The flavors are balanced. We even enjoyed a pianist with our meal.
Chef Gregory and Mario took time and great care of us. We got to try a couple small plates before ordering our food. Our typical French fix is at Mon Ami Gabi, but this experience, and delicious food makes this local restaurant our go to for French restaurant. We ordered the escargots, steak frites, and Coquille St Jacques, and it all tasted amazing. Highly recommend, will definitely come back!
Decided to go somewhere special for my birthday so we went to Laperoux Bistro in Germantown. It was a wonderful night. Great ambiance and wonderful waitstaff. The Chef came by to check on us and wished me a happy birthday. And the food was absolutely delicious. We had the escargot (not pictured as we ate it before I could take picture), beef bourguignon, trout almondine, chicken scallopini, steak frites, chocolate mousse, parfait, profiterole (from the chef for my birthday). Highly recommend, especially for special occasions.
This hidden gem is just what Germantown needs! Owned locally it brings Paris to your doorstep! The steal au poivre and a French accent onion soup were incredible and for the more adventurous they have amazing dishes like escargot and octopus! Their cocktails were literally amazing too! Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful staff! You have to try it!
